Patrons consistently highlight the pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by scenic views that enhance the dining experience. Pleasant staff and the food was amazing...definitely worth the visit, the place has plenty of parking available for all customers, there is handicap entrance and bathrooms for males and females. Masks are no longer required.
Mofongo is a must-try food dish when you visit Puerto Rico. El Platanar hosts an excellent quality and variety of mofongos with your choice of meat. My go-to mofongo choice is fried beef, as seen in the picture. El Platanar also features a nice view as the restaurant sits on top of a hill.
Very good food. Chicken mofongo damn delicious... and dish El Nido puff, try the dessert sweet plantain flan yummy.
Great views. Great food and drinks
Food was very good service was very slow
Pretty much perfect. Mayo-ketchup needs to be improved. We visited on a Wednesday night and had the place to ourselves. The server was friendly, engaging and had a great sense if humor. We ordered the wings as an appetizer. The wings were nicely seasoned but to much breading for my taste. They included plantain fries, which were tasty on their own. For the main, El Nido was chosen. Fried chunks of pork topped with onions, resting in a bed of mofongo. I initially thought that prices were high but the quantity and quality made up for it.The atmosphere was jovial. The music at a decent volume made for a nice change as we could have a conversation without having to raise our voices.A good selection of beers is at the ready as well as cocktails.
We had a delicious lunch here and the setting is amazing!
